iTunes is enabling my Nostalgia Road trip.
Back during my J-Rock days, the music was so hard to find so we all resorted to sharing with each other. That's how I built up my collection. I lost a good chunk of it due to computers dying and deleting stuff I stopped listening to (ughhh, mistake), and now, I'm struggling MORE to find some of the stuff I used to listen to.
And then iTunes comes along, being a hero. It has a good chunk of what I listened to!! Even some of the more obscure stuff that made my heart stop when I searched and found one song I really wanted.
I really need to be careful about this nostalgia binge, but...it makes me happy to see some of my past becoming accessible again. Even at the cost of $.99 a song lol

I noticed Spotify had a chunk when I started all this with Gackt last year, but me and Spotify don't get along too well. I like to have the mp3s, which is where the real issue has come in.
So far I've found Gackt, D, Miyavi, and Angelo on iTunes. I haven't looked for too many others just yet, but I'm SO happy to at least see THEM on there. That's a HUGE deal from what we had ten years ago omg.
Anyway, hello!

If iTunes has Miyavi's older albums I might have to make some purchases once I get settled in! Spotify only has from like 2003-onward, which isn't a bad selection by any means, but it's sure not complete.
I need to see if Spotify has D... I never formally stopped listening to them or Malice Mizer, but I don't have them on my phone for easy access, which is a travesty.
Oh god ten years ago finding music from a non-Western country on iTunes would've been a bizarre happenstance. It took companies so long to figure out that with the internet, people could listen and were listening to music from all around the world, so limiting their selection meant that they were missing out on a lot of sales.

THey DOn't. i'M SO MAD. I wanted 21 seikigata koushinkyoku and I had to rip it off Youtube because I can't find it ANYWHERE. I wasn't a HUGE Miyavi fan (though I am REALLY liking his recent stuff), but that song was so up there.
YES. D is such a weak spot for me, I can't wait to catch up on their recent stuff. And ugh, can never get enough of Malice Mizer. They were my first!!!
RIGHT. Pay $40+ for a physical CD, no wonder we shared all that shit lol

I'm just flipping my shit because they have ALL of Kirito's solo shit on iTunes and I am AGAIN noticing I don't have ANY OF HIS SONGS. WHY, SELF. WHY.
