Just because it's relevant, it really bugs me that Cirque doesn't really celebrate the anniversary of its dead shows.

This year would be Dralion's 20th if they hadn't closed it. I joked to my friend (who I met through our mutual love of the show and Erik) about how they really should release the show on Blu-Ray, unedited or something (because they really kind of botched some of the editing, especially when you have access to songs that people recorded and you never knew how some of the songs really went unless you saw the show live or had those bootleg live tracks).

Not only would we have Erik in HD, but omg, just...just having the show back after all these years.

I just want Dralion in HD. It was filmed in 1999 and even on DVD on a HDTV, it's so hard to watchhhhhhh.

Oh yeah, there's FB and other stuff, but I'm not really active in them. I'm sure it would fall on deaf ears. Cirque is a pretty weird company lol

I spent so long having Dralion be MY thing that I actually struggle in those groups because I feel so possessive over it. *I* got to go backstage, Erik is *MY* muse. Like, it became so much a part of me that I get really...irritable with other fans. Especially those who weren't there from the beginning. And it's not even an elitist kind of attitude or whatever. It's probably not an uncommon reaction, but idk how to describe it.

Totally. Sometimes sharing it with people can be stressful. I'm selective about who I share my interests with. I chose people who will be mature about being a fan and understand my deeper connections with things like this. I think I understand what you mean. Sometimes you don't want your interests soiled by other fans.

Right?! Reminds me of the Colin Clive ("It's Alive!!") fiasco. I was "friends" with this one lady, she was in her 40s...Janet? We were both Clive fans and she initially contacted me to see if I had any more info that she didn't have. She was friendly and I didn't see the red flags that she was hella toxic and fake because I was a naive 24 year old. Then another person contacted me (someone who ended up literally being one of my best friends in the whole world. Melissa asked me more about Clive and I was like here's what I know but contact this other lady about him. A few weeks later this Janet character posted a passive aggressive post of Bela Lugosi biting a woman's neck saying "some people just want to suck you for information." And then blocked Melissa and me. Janet claimed that my friend Melissa actually told her we made fun of her behind her back. Um. What? It was very weird and we never figured it out. She was also VERY POSSESSIVE about Colin Clive....a dead guy who belongs to no one. SO yeah, I feel ya.

YEAHHH, the older fans are like the WORST. You can excuse the younger generation because they just haven't learned or gained that life experience, but the older fans who know better are just TERRIBLE. Ugh, that sucks.

oh totally. Another older fandom lady I know had terrible trouble with another middle aged woman who essentially gatekeeps the Rupert Graves fandom. Sad.
