Smoker voice is out. A lady I didn't know sat in with us during rehearsal tonight and commented that it was probably going to be hard to understand the voice, especially with the mics. I wasn't really upset about that, but I was hoping they'd like my nice old lady voice more. I did get more laughs out of the lady (I think her name was Lisa idk, she was with the theatre, but I've never seen her before), but the director gave me some references to study to get some ideas off of.



I know that doesn't mean she didn't like my voices, but I think I'm frustrated because the last show I did with her was so effortless for me, that having to really WORK for this is more daunting and discouraging than I want it to be. I think it's just my shaky self-confidence trying to whittle me down, but UGH. I just want that moment of her going "THAT'S IT!"

I don't want her to feel like she made a mistake by casting me in this part :/ Especially because one of the ladies in the cast wanted my part and I want to do it so much justice that I can prove my worth.
